Martin Lewis explains how the tuition fees increase will affect university graduates.

UK students will pay more for university in England next year, as undergraduate tuition fees rise to 拢9,535 a year.

It is an increase of 拢285 on the fees, which have been frozen at a maximum of 拢9,250 since 2017.

Speaking to 5 Live鈥檚 Adrian Chiles, Martin said: 鈥淚ncreasing tuition fees will not change what graduates repay once they leave university in a year. What you repay is based solely on what you earn.鈥�

鈥淭he people who will pay more because the tuition fees have gone up, are mid-high to higher earning graduates. Low to middle earning graduates will not repay anymore because tuition fees have gone up.鈥�
