Should assisted dying for terminally ill in England and Wales be legalised?
It's a controversial and complex topic – legally, morally and ethically – and one which MPs will now begin to scrutinise.
A landmark bill on assisted dying has just been published. To be eligible, adults must have mental capacity to make an informed choice and be expected to die within six months.
The decisions have to be approved by two doctors and a High Court judge.
