Leicester gears up for Christmas lights switch-on
Work is underway in Leicester city centre to prepare for the big Christmas light switch-on.
Leicester City Council has confirmed a catalogue of events which includes a new market and the annual Christmas lights switch-on. 大象传媒 Radio Leicester's Ady Dayman hosts proceedings at the clock tower where a 47ft Christmas tree will be illuminated along with 16,000 LED lights throughout the city centre.
The new Christmas market will be introduced in Gallowtree Gate, running until 29 December and offering treats, gifts and festive food.
大象传媒 Leicester's Kevin Ncube followed the light switch on trail, and Ross Tarbard from Leicester City Council explained the events happening in Leicester over the festive season.
