Rhydian Cowley: Jam making, bird watching and environmentalism
2024 has been a monumental year for Australian Rhydian Cowley. He won bronze alongside team mate Jemima Montag at the Paris Olympics in the inaugural walking mixed team relay.
He was also named the 大象传媒 Green Sport Award's World Athlete of the Year using his platform to spark debates about climate change and how it's affecting not only sport but the whole planet. He is part of the EcoAthletes collective, a non-profit that inspires and coaches athletes to lead climate action.
Fuelled by homemade jam and some bird watching, Cowley told Sportshour's Caroline Barker about his unusual combination of passions.
