Worcestershire village with no power
Grimley, between Worcester and Holt, has had no power since Storm Darragh hit on Saturday afternoon. Villagers say they are still not sure when their power can be switched back on.
Resident and Parish Councillor Robin Woodhouse tells our reporter Matt Hutchinson the lengths villagers are having to go, to cope with the outage.
Some of the electricity pylons are partially submerged, making repairing them difficult.
A spokesperson for National Grid Electricity Distribution told the ´óÏó´«Ã½: “the adverse weather has made working conditions for our engineers challenging but since the start of the storm, we have restored over 1.5m properties."
They say they're thankful to customers in the Midlands for their patience and appreciate long waits can be frustrating, and that their engineers are making progress in tackling faults to get people’s power back on as speedily and safely as they can.
