Efforts to trace relatives of WW2 soldier
Officials in a French village are trying to trace the relatives of a Leicestershire soldier who died in battle there in 1944.
Lance Sergeant George Richard Williams was one of six British soldiers from the 1st Battalion Leicestershire regiment killed in August 1944 fighting the Germans in France, close to the village of Le Fournet in Normandy.
A memorial to the soldiers stands in the village and the local mayor is hoping to meet their families to honour the men's sacrifice.
Benjamin Eyre was one of the soldiers killed. His Great Nephew Leigh Dalton told 大象传媒 Leicester's Ady Dayman why they want to find George William's relatives.
