How the Cutty Sark came to Greenwich's dry dock

The iconic clipper recently celebrated its 70th anniversary in Greenwich.

The Cutty Sark聽was built exclusively for the聽China tea trade in 1869 in Dumbarton, Scotland. It cost聽拢16,150聽when it was first built. On its maiden voyage, the ship departed London on 15 February 1870, bound for Shanghai.

It was moved to Greenwich in 1954 and opened to the public in 1957 by The Queen.

On its 70th Anniversary at the dry dock in Greenwich, 大象传媒 Radio London's Robert Elms has been finding out more.
