Boxing Day Tsunami: ‘There’s an empty seat at the table’
Debbie Garlick was 31, and on holiday in Thailand with her boyfriend, Sam. Both were killed by the waves.
The Herefordshire woman's parents, who live in Ledbury, say they'll be raising a glass in her memory during the festive season, reflecting on the anniversary of the day their lives changed forever.
Margaret and Bryson Garlick tell Tom Edwards about Debbie, and how the only physical reminder they have of her now are developed photos, that were taken by Debbie and her partner in the hours before she died.
230,000 people across 15 countries around the world died in the 2004 Boxing Day Tsunami, making it one of the deadliest natural disasters in history.
