Kim Wilde topped the charts here and in America, and was the most-charted British female solo act of the 1980s, with seventeen UK Top 40 hit singles. Now she joins Vernon Kay in the ´óÏó´«Ã½ Radio 2 Piano Room at Maida Vale Studios to perform her classic 80s track ‘You Came’, new song ‘Midnight Train’ and a special cover of Crowded House’s singalong favourite ‘Weather With You’, alongside the ´óÏó´«Ã½ Concert Orchestra.
Kim and Vernon reminisce over the early years of success in the 1980s, taking us through to her break from showbiz in order to be a mother and a gardener, and then onto to her re-emergence to the music scene, still touring and releasing new music today. Joined along the way by her brother Ricky, and now her niece Scarlett, Kim describes how she is having the best time of her career right now and the excitement of playing the orchestral versions of her songs, with arrangements by conductor and pianist Evan Jolly.
