NHS calls for more Black heritage blood donors

The NHS wants more Black heritage blood donors.They have a blood type that can treat sickle cell disorder, which is particularly prevalent amongst African and Caribbean people.

The NHS wants to see more blood donors from Black heritage groups to come forward. It has issued an amber alert which means there is a shortage of blood from these groups.It is a high priority in areas like Manchester as well as the other parts of the UK.
