Leicestershire actor Richard Armitage has been named as the head judge of this year's Midlands Movies Awards.

Now in its ninth year, the awards supports the best filmmaking talent across the region and organisers are encouraging independent filmmakers of all ages and backgrounds to submit their films.

Multi award-winning stage and screen actor Armitage will be joined on the jury panel by other respected and experienced film professionals who'll have the difficult task of choosing the nominations and winners.

Mike Sales, who heads up the awards, and previous winner Matt Holt spoke to 大象传媒 Leicester's Ben Jackson.
