Rasen to Rocketman: The Bernie Taupin story

The legendary lyricist grew up near Market Rasen.

Bernie Taupin, who's best known for being the writer who penned many of the lyrics to Sir Elton John's biggest hits, grew up in Lincolnshire.
It's said to have inspired some of his best-known songs including Saturday Night's Alright For Fighting, which is allegedly based on nights out in Market Rasen.
Owain Wyn Evans looks at Bernie's early years and how he came to be half of one of music's most prolific partnerships.
