First West Midlands Humanitarian Medal received
A firefighter from Sutton Coldfield has become the first person from the West Midlands to receive the new Humanitarian Medal.
The award is given to individuals who've helped to save lives and prevent suffering - following a disaster or conflict.
Back in 2023, Shyam Rana from West Midlands Fire Service travelled out to Morocco to help rescue people following an earthquake there.
And he has received the Humanitarian Medal from King Charles during a ceremony at Buckingham Palace.
