'A waste of time, effort and money'
Castle Donington residents say new speed bumps installed to slow drivers aren't working.
A traffic-calming project in Leicestershire has been criticised by residents who say new speed bumps are not tall enough to make drivers slow down.
The raised sections were installed on Park Lane, Castle Donington, at the end of February as part of a range of measures being paid for by developers.
The speed "tables" were designed to reach a maximum height of 70mm (2.8in) above the existing road, according to the council. But residents said the bump at the junction of Park Lane and The Green was smaller than that size.
大象传媒 Leicester reporter Ben Mellor has been to meet the residents who are not happy.
In a statement, Leicestershire County Council said: "The design of traffic calming measures on Park Lane in Castle Donington follows national guidance and speed tables were selected as an option after considering the best needs of both buses and other road users. All new traffic calming schemes are monitored for at least six months after completion, including safety audit assessments."
