Barnokhon Ismatullaeva

Soprano from Uzbekistan - 25 years old

Barno was born in the Makhamat district of Andizhan in the Republic of Uzbekistan in 1991. She graduated from music school playing piano and finished her Master’s degree from the State Conservatory of Uzbekistan in 2015. She won the nationwide Nikhol Prize of Uzbekistan for young performers in 2010. In 2012 Barnokhon won the 1st prize and a diploma for the best performance of Ave Maria in the international competition of vocalists in Moscow 2012. She was also a soloist at the Bolshoi Theatre in Navoi in the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Between 2014 and 2016 Barnokhon sang at the Krasnoyarsk International Music Festival of the Asia-Pacific region, won 1st prize at the “Competizione dell’opera” Tashkent and was invited to sing solo at the Mariinsky Theatre in Vladivostok. Since 2016 she’s been a soloist in the Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Moscow Academic Music Theatre.

Barnokhon has collaborated with leading orchestras of the Republic of Uzbekistan and around the world, singing in Verdi’s Requiem, Orff’s Carmina Burana, Strauss’ 4 Last Songs and Shostakovich’s 14th Symphony. Opera roles include Mimi, Musetta (La Boheme), Nedda (I Pagliacci), Violetta (La Traviata), Leonora (Il Trovatore), Tatiana (Eugene Onegin), Lisa (The Queen of Spades) and the title roles of Madame Butterfly, Turandot, Iolanta, and Jenufa.
