Stan Carter was Canning Town born and bred, telling anyone who’ll listen that he learnt everything he knows at the school of hard knocks; life is tough and a man gets on with it.
Stan was an arch manipulator; he’d lie and cheat to get what he wanted, taking down anyone who stood in his way. And although he might have been wary of Shirley and Mick, he knew where their weak spots lay and would do anything he could to get them back under his control...
In April 2015, a few months after being diagnosed, Stan lost his battle with terminal prostate cancer.
