For most people time spent in hospital would not be remembered fondly, but a stint on the wards after a serious knee injury introduced Shawkat to presenting via hospital radio.
锘縎hawkat's injury proved the springboard to his radio career as he joined the 大象传媒 shortly after to become a senior producer and presenter.
The highlights of his career at the 大象传媒 Asian Network include interviewing Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan, Bangladesh film star Bobita and the singer Kumar Sanu. His favourite song to play on air is 'Ek Baisakhe Dekha Holo Dujoner' by Arati Mukherjee. In his spare time Shawkat loves playing badminton and cricket.
