The crisis over Catalonia's referendum on independence reached a new stage on Tuesday. The President of the region, Carles Puigdemont, addressed the Catalan parliament. He condemned the actions of the Spanish government during the referendum, accusing it of behaving aggressively. And he said Catalonia had won the right to be an independent country. The 大象传媒's Guy Hedgecoe has the analysis.
Somalia is a country that has suffered almost three decades of chaos and violence. For the past 10 years it has had a functioning government once again, but its control is limited and the fight against the Islamist group Al Shabaab continues, with the help of troops from other African countries.
