German Carmakers in New Emissions Scandal
Carmakers funded a research group to carry out emissions tests on monkeys and humans.
The German government has denounced experiments funded by German carmakers in which humans and monkeys reportedly inhaled diesel exhaust fumes. Research was done by EUGT, a body funded by Volkswagen, Daimler and BMW. What it comes down to is ethics - is it right for animals or humans to be tested like this, at risk to their heath? We heard from Dr Bert Heinrichs, professor of ethics and applied ethics at Bonn University.
