An open air service of national remembrance has taken place in New Zealand for the people shot dead by a far-right gunman in two mosques a fortnight ago. Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern said New Zealand was not immune to the virus of hate but could be the nation that found the cure.
The British government is to hold a new vote on Brexit today, the final attempt to get the withdrawal agreement through the House of Commons. The speaker ruled that the vote could take place as the motion considered just the withdrawal agreement, not the future political relationship between London and Brussels.
The Venezuelan government has barred the opposition leader Juan Guaido from public office. Mr Guaido is the man who declared himself interim president in January as part of a campaign to remove Nicolas Maduro from office.
