Facebook have taken out ads across Sunday newspapers in the UK and US to apologise for the improper use of tens of millions of users’ data in the Cambridge Analytica affair.

Jennifer Grygiel of Syracuse University assesses the public relations value of the apology, and Greg Williams of Wired UK gives his view on the effect the scandal is having on the company’s finances.
Swiss authorities have announced they are opening a criminal tax investigation against luxury fashion giant Kering, who control among others the brands Gucci, Stella McCartney and Yves St Laurent. The authorities will be investigating whether profits made on Gucci sales in Italy were in fact declared in Switzerland. George Turner of the Tax Justice Network joins us to describe how companies are still able to artificially shift their business to more convenient territory.
