Google Workers Sign Letter on Military Drone Project
1,300 employees have signed a letter asking for work to stop on a US military project.
1,300 workers sign an open letter asking for work to stop on Project Maven, which uses artificial intelligence to improve the accuracy of military drone strikes. We speak to Kate Conger of the technology website Gizmodo on what this means for Google's image, and future. Human Rights Watch has just published a report outlining the conditions many children endure while working in the tobacco fields of Zimbabwe. Margaret Wurth led the research and explains the findings. The European Union recently licensed the weed killer glyphosate for another five years, amid heated debate about its safety.
