More Bank Chiefs Pull Out of Saudi Event
HSBC, Credit Suisse and Standard Chartered have pulled out of a Saudi investor conference.
HSBC, Credit Suisse and Standard Chartered have pulled out of a Saudi investor conference. We get analysis of the latest move, in the wake of the disappearance of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi, from Karen Young of the American Enterprise Institute and George Washington University. Also in the programme, we have a report from India on the growing 'Me Too' movement there, where women are taking to their keyboards to expose the alleged behaviour of high profile men. As the president of the European Council, Donald Tusk, warns that the likelihood of a 'no deal' Brexit is rising, our regular economic commentator Roger Bootle of Capital Economics assesses the implications of that scenario. Following the murder of Bulgarian journalist Viktoria Marinova ten days ago, we hear about her work from fellow investigative journalist Assen Yordanov, who worked closely with Ms Marinova. Plus our reporter profiles the 300-year-old London wine supplier, Berry Brothers and Rudd.
