UK MPs back Brexit delay bill by one vote

It will be up to the EU to decide whether to grant any extension.

Despite opposition from the government, British MP's have passed a bill which obliges the prime minister to ask for an extension to the Brexit process to avoid leaving the bloc without a deal; in a rare address to both chambers of the US Congress, NATO's Secretary General, Jens Stoltenberg, has marked the alliance's 70th anniversary in a speech, warning the alliance about the threat from Russia; and a new study has found that a poor diet ranks above smoking as the world's biggest risk to health.
