Fighting near Libyan capital leads to 21 dead

The United States has demanded an immediate halt to an offensive by the Libyan warlord Khalifa Haftar on the capital, Tripoli. The Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo, said the US was continuing to press Libyan leaders to return to political talks mediated by the United Nations. Four days of fighting around Tripoli are reported to have left more than twenty people dead: the UN says its call for a humanitarian pause was ignored.
Rwanda's president said the country had become "a family once again", while marking the 25th anniversary of the genocide that killed 800,000 people. Paul Kagame, who led a rebel force that ended the slaughter, lit a remembrance flame in the capital Kigali on Sunday.
