Trump vetoes bill to end US Yemen war role

Yemen has been devastated by a conflict that escalated in March 2015.

Donald Trump has used his presidential veto to block a move by Congress to try to force him to end American support for Saudi-led military action in Yemen;
voters in Indonesia have been choosing a president and parliament after a campaign in which the role of conservative Islam was prominent; and the French president, Emmanuel Macron, says Notre-Dame cathedral will be rebuilt "even more beautifully" - and that he wants the work done within five years.
