Short range missiles fired in "solemn warning" to South Korea

The missiles were fired into the Sea of Japan from Wonsan on North Korea's east coast.

North Korean leader Kim Jong-un has said two missiles fired on Thursday were newly designed tactical weapons that sent a "solemn warning" to South Korea over plans to hold military drills with the United States.

More than 100 people are feared to have drowned in a shipwreck off the coast of Libya. The tragedy occurred when a wooden boat carrying migrants sank near the town of Al Khoms.
