The US say they've killed a key regional al-Qaeda leader in Yemen

The militant group was formed eleven years ago when two al-Qaeda branches combined with the goal of eliminating Western influence in the region.

The United States has announced that it's killed the leader of al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula, Qasim al-Raymi.
