We hear how Italian life has changed after the country was put into coronavirus lockdown.
We hear how Italian life has changed after the country was put into coronavirus lockdown. Cristina Caroli is owner of the Aroma bar and cafe in central Bologna, and tells us about the impact on her business and staff. Andrew Bonfanti is human resources manager for gas supply company Gesam, and also mayor of the Tuscan town of Pescaglia, and explains why he is still driving 10 kilometres to the office every morning. And we hear from Ilaria del Bianco, who has been in quarantine in Lucca since the total lockdown was announced, how her life has changed beyond all recognition. Also in the programme, we have a roundup of all the latest market gyrations as a result of the coronavirus crisis. Plus, with more and more people being asked to work from home under the current circumstances, Professor Izzat Darwazeh, director of the Institute of Communications and Connected Systems at University College London, discusses whether our broadband connections will be able to take the strain.
