As we age as a society, will more people elect to choose the time of their own death? And will we feel any pressure to? In 2002, the Netherlands became the first country to legalise euthanasia. Since then, assisted dying and assisted suicide has remained controversial as a topic.

Manuela Saragosa speaks to Margaret Pabst Battin, who is distinguished professor of philosophy and adjunct professor of internal medicine at the Division of Medical Ethics, at the University of Utah. She also speaks to John MacInnes, professor of sociology and associate dean of quantitative methods at the University of Edinburgh.

And the 大象传媒's Anna Holligan reports that plans to relax Dutch law further are attracting opposition - and accusations that insurers just want to cut payouts.
