Pete Goss鈥檚 heroic solo rescue during the 1996 Vendee Globe round-the-world yacht race.
British sailor Pete Goss was taking part in the Vendee Globe single-handed round-the-world yacht race in 1996 when he received a distress call from another participant. French sailor Raphael Dinelli was 160 miles away in the Southern Ocean around Antarctica 鈥� but Pete Goss went back through hurricane force winds to rescue him.
