Teni the Entertainer
Teni the Entertainer, one of Africa’s biggest musical stars, talks to DJ Edu about her debut album, and her desire to see Nigeria set an example for the rest of Africa.
Teni the Entertainer is fast becoming one of Africa’s biggest musical stars. But even though she has been releasing hit songs for several years, she has only just released her debut album, Wondaland.
Making her second appearance on This Is Africa, she talks DJ Edu through some of the record’s 17 tracks, discussing topics such as family, sex, body image and police brutality. Inspired by her love of theme parks, Teni also reveals why her main aim was to make a rollercoaster record that was, above all else, fun.
But despite her desire to entertain – a characteristic that has helped Teni amass millions of social media followers – there is also a thoughtful side to her interview with TIA, as she opens up on her desire to see Nigeria set an example for the rest of Africa.
