Lisandro Cuxi in session
Lisandro Cuxi, one of Cabo Verde's biggest stars, sings acoustic versions of some of his favourite songs.
Lisandro Cuxi became a household name in France in 2017 when he won The Voice, just before his 18th birthday. He wowed the judges with his stunning renditions of songs by Rihanna, Justin Timberlake and David Guetta, as well as his impressive dance moves.
Cuxi moved to France when he was nine years old, was born in Portugal, and has parents from Cabo Verde. His initial inspiration was his half-sister Soraia Ramos, now one of Cabo Verde's most successful artists. He is now writing and recording his own music, and is due to release a new album this year. He was recently named Best Lusophone Artist at the Trace Awards in Rwanda.
He tells about his journey to date, and gives TIA listeners a unique opportunity to hear his exceptional voice in exclusive acoustic renditions of some of his favourite songs.
