The fight for Guatemala's lakes

Lake Amatitlan is badly polluted, and a second lake is about to suffer the same fate. We hear from locals and businesses about the race to clean up these key tourist attractions.

We’re in the Central American country to hear about a tale of two lakes.

One, Lake Amatitlan, is badly polluted and the other – Lake Atitlan - which was once nominated as one of the seven new wonders of the world and is a top tourist attraction - is in danger of going that way too.

We hear about the costs needed to clean up these key tourist attractions, and hear about the loss of income for local businesses.
