Misty's Big Adventure
Misty's Big Adventure were personally invited to support the Zutons on two sell out tours
of the UK, and singer Grandmaster Gareth was asked to play Theremin on stage with
them at this year's Glastonbury festival.
That last bit sounds a bit random doesn't it? Well welcome to the world of Misty's Big Adventure and the story of their, well, big adventure.
It's been a stellar year for the band formed originally by Grandmaster Gareth - their line up now spans 9 people! By October 2005, Misty's Big Adventure were supporting the Magic Numbers on their UK tour and their album The Black Hole was released to rave reviews
Their live shows have achieved word-of-mouth legendary status. It's catchy, non stop, not-really-pop tracks that do it... that and the fact they're accompanied by a crazed dancer called Erotic Volvo who scared a member of the OneMusic team so much at this year's In The City that he had to leave the gig and hide in his hotel room! You're intrigued now aren't you?
Gareth was once called 'The new God' by John Peel. Not surprising, as he played out a specially 大象传媒 commissioned 17-minute long epic Monster Melody.
Gareth has arranged strings and brass for bands including Bentley Rhythm Ace,
Broadcast, Pram, Plone and Kimya Dawson, as well as producing New York Anti-Folk
hero Jeffrey Lewis' album for Rough Trade.
