Suzie North Syracuse NY This song was a piece of genius during the bubble-gum radio rock of the 70's! How can you not think of this song when you think of summer of 1975 and Mr. Jaws and all the great stuff from the 70s!
Pete Fenelon, York Everything about this song is a work of genius; lyrics, melody; production - it's pure class.
Nicola Milligan, Edinburgh One of the best love songs of all time. Everyone who has been terrified of being taken over by their feelings by someone else can relate to this.
Brilliant.
thunderousjethrotoll Classic seminal track taken from the band's finest album. Superb lyrics and arrangement of a true seventies 'classic'!
Isabella/Melbourne This song has an emotional charge that is quite extraordinary. I sang it together with a man that I have been dating for a little while and we both say it is our all time fav song. Maybe we are denying what we really feel for eachother that some past emotional tear has made us more wary, but as the song states "I'm not in love" it couldnt be further from the truth if it tried, myself for that matter. A truely brilliant song.
rob wallser plymouth A fine song from a good band who had promised a great deal up to this point, finally delivering in true classic a style. Like many ground breaking records you've never heard anything like it before or after, although rather strangely it reminds me of Dollar's "Give Me Back My Heart"!
Richard Yorkshire I m not in love is one of those memeroable songs which reminds us that relationships are not all they are made out to be in the media. Quite often song lyrics reflect the issues which are mosy heart bearking because each person feels it in a different way. Perhapps the lack of communication barrier between both parties is causing this suspicion in the song, particularly in the lyrics " keep your picture upon the wall
It hides a nasty stain that's lyin' there
So don't you ask me to give it back, I know you know it doesn't mean that much to me
I'm not in love, no-no
My interpretation is that this individual still has love for this person, but what do you think the nasty stain is refering to? Could it mean the stain represents some form of emotional pain and the picture is a coping stratedgy for the positive characteristics this person has?
ENJOY THE SONG
Livingston What a band!!...great musicians and songwriters who were also a truly great live act. The song is an absolute classic from a truly great album, a real emotional depthcharge of a song,..I never tire of hearing this one, and it takes me back to the warm summer that it was released and it always makes sends a shiver up my spine when I hear it...a real timeless classic from a real class act.
Meredith Lewis Charles City IA USA This song was one of those that created an enormous first impression, practically made me stop the car I was driving to listen. The Rhodes piano, the building of the vocal montage..just an indescribable mood it elicited on pop radio no less(!) I compare the recording to "Eight Miles High" and "Tomorrow Never Knows" (two songs I resisted and did not like for a long time) in the impact that I still can feel-emotionally-over the years.
Addam, Hartlepool The Fun Lovin' Criminals cover is pretty cool aswell, not as good as the original though...
Tony Adelaide, South Australia Every time I listen to this song, It's like I go back in time to my early teenage years in a time machine or something . I can't explain it. As a teenager I did'nt actually like this song that much, I guess because I was trying to cope with my adolescent issues and stuff like that. It was a sad song in it's time but very moving at the same time. Now as an adult, this song seems to strike some kind pf emotional chord inside me and I really connect with it. It's crazy stuff, I know. I don't usually bother myself with stuff like this. Perhaps I should get some counselling or something. Sometimes I think to myself that those years were more simple and there seemed to be enough time to reflect on life whereas these days everything is so confused and complicated. My point is, this song reminds of a time when the world seemed more innocent and I guess, that I wish I could go back there knowing everything that I know now. Pretty crazy stuff.
Anthony Moaton/Oak Park This song is in my top ten. I was so moved by this song as a child that I cried. It was so mysterious yet simple. The backing vocals were unlike anything out at the time. The sustaining synth chords really caught made this song. "big boys do cry"
Steve Town. Ripon,North Yorks Everythime I hear this song it sends me to another planet.
The arrangment and the lyrics are just out of this world.

Tobes, London Close your eyes and remember the disco dancefloors of the late 70's or early 80's. After what seemed like hours of frantic activity vaguely opposite any number of partners showing off to Chic, Kool and the Gang or the Jacksons, it came out of the blue - the slowy of all slowies. The rush of adreneline as you heard that heavenly choir and those first two cords Bb then C with that throbbing C bass. It was like a childs game, the chords repeated themselves but he clock was ticking. 'Quick, find someone to snog quick'. The chords repeated one more time then 3-2-1 and a C# warned us that time had run out. The room stood still listening to the opening words 'I'm not in love, so don't forget it ...'. You were either motionless and melancholy watching from the edge of the dancefloor or on it entwined with someone letting emotions you couldn't handle work their way into your stomache and your racing heart.
For a generation I'm not in Love is the greatest slowy of them all and the soundtrachk to the first and most memorable snog.
Mike, Newport, Shrops. Quite simply, the greatest pop ballad of all time.A timeless masterpiece.
