It鈥檚 a lot of exercise. My mum, even to this day, is really fit and she鈥檚 had ten kids. She used to rock us forever. I don鈥檛 seem to have that kind of time. I鈥檓 not even going to attempt that with my kids and I鈥檝e only got two which is quite enough.
Fufulde is a language which is fast disappearing in Nigeria. There鈥檚 been a lot of inter-marrying with the Hausas and their language is proving to be a stronger language. That鈥檚 why I chose to sing a lullaby in Fufulde because it鈥檚 preserving part of my culture which brings back very warm memories. I sing it to my children with the hope they鈥檒l be able to carry it forward in their time. At the moment they don鈥檛 understand what I鈥檓 singing but I鈥檓 hoping in time they will.
