A favourite song:
I have played hundreds of tunes over the years but this particular one reflects where I'm at as a musician today. It's a traditional tune, which comes from the Abergavenny area - from the Ancient Ayres of Gwent and Morganwg - and was collected in the 1830s. Translated into English it means 'Ofor's Well'.
My Bosnian friends played this tune in Sarajevo and it brought people to tears. When I see that a tune can have this effect on people who are hundreds of miles away, it re-enforces for me why I love music. This piece also draws on the harp technique, which I have been trying to develop on the guitar recently.
