Where I play:
I love to play at music sessions, festivals and in the local pub. Even though I don't smoke or drink alcohol, you'll invariably find me down at The Bothy Bar in the Albert Hotel in Kirkwall occasionally for the traditional session or 'tune' as we call it up this way.
As well as playing regularly myself at The Orkney Folk Festival & The Shetland Accordion and Fiddle Festival, I've taken The Lone Star Swing Band to perform in Torshaven at The Faroese Arts Festival. We also perform at the St Magnus Festival Club which is a more classical, arty event.
Infact I'm always playing - I teach the fiddle privately to kids here on the island and just today I've been trying out some of my tunes on the whistle. Music is the heart of my life.
