A favourite song:

‘Knockin’ is a very simple song with a working title. I began with 2 chords that I really liked, and that followed into a whole other chord sequence. I stuck a melody on it and recorded it in my own little studio. Originally I was going to have saxophone and trumpet playing the melody, but I played a guide melody with the guitar and then improvised over the rest. It was one of those magic moments - a one-take thing - throwaway. So I played it back and thought, ‘That’s actually quite good! That works as it is!". It’s got a blues feeling. And I think because it was almost like an accident … I’m quite proud of it!
