Small venue, very friendly, very community (Donna Hurford)
Lovely, friendly place. Great bar and cafe. Some wonderful gigs take place in the main hall, sessions in the bar, music and dance workshops. (Jane Lawrence)

I'm a musician who plays in a host of street bands including 'Blowjangles' in our local community. We play markets, street processions, summer festivals and old folks' homes. We offer our services for expenses only because we really play for our own entertainment.

Rhythm and Blues, and what new bands like to play |
|
|
Although improvements could be made to the lay-out in this fairly new pub/music venue, the atmosphere makes up for this small shortfall with weekends full of up-beat blues from bands around the north.
Newer and younger bands occupy Wednesday and Thursday nights and there have been many lively nights thanks to them. The place is alive with groove come 9.30. Even towards the end of the weekend you can sit, chat and relax to the sound of a laid back Sunday afternoon consisting usually of blues (but don't let that wide genre put you off; some very interesting crossover styles have been enjoyed there of late!) (Claire)
