Drawing Competition
24 May 2002

Last week for entries - postal entries now accepted!

Archers listeners are a clever bunch, as can be seen from the hundreds of fantasy storylines and parodies that they contribute to the topic on the .

Plenty of examples of literary talent there. But we thought it would be fun to give you a chance to show off your artistic talents too. So today we launch the Fantasy Archers Drawing Competition.

Through the month of May, we invite you to illustrate any Archers parody or fantasy published on the Archers website (not the message board): Ìý

At the end of the month, a panel of judges from the Archers, chaired by Archers Editor Vanessa Whitburn, will pick the winners. Points will be awarded for wit, originality and artistic ability. Please note the conditions of entry below

To give you an idea, we asked cartoonist Nick Ellwood to illustrate some past stories. You don't have to copy his style, or use these stories for your own illustration:

Liz Shears
The Ambridge Abduction ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý
Shulughcide (a bit gruesome, this one)

Three runners-up will receive copies of Shula's Story by Joanna Toye, signed by the author.

The best illustration for each story (or part of a story if in multiple parts) will be published, with artist's credit, on the Archers website.
