Jazzerwocky
by Bekki Sharpe
Inspired by the drug-fuelled goings-on in the old shepherd's hut
'Twas brillig and the slimey Greg
Did gurn and game-keep in the main;
All flimsy were the squirrel dreys,
And the tree-rats all slain.
"Beware the Jazzerwock, my son!
The wobbly eggs, the dodgy crack,
Beware the ju-ju weed, and shun
The woodland opium shack!"
Ed took his State handouts in hand,
Long time the manky Scot he sought,
So rested he by a millenium tree,
And stood awhile in thought.
And
as in uffish thought he stood,
The Jazzerwock, with eyes dilate,
Came staggering through the tulgy wood,
And gurgled "Am I late?"
Ìý
One two! One two! And through and through,
The deal was done. Alas! Alack!
"Och aye, kid, thats fifteen quid,
It's reet braw wicked smack!"
"And hast thou seen the Jazzerwock?
O why indulge thy druggish lust?
O craptious day! Callooh! Callay!"
Will spat out in disgust.
'Twas brillig and the slimey Greg,
Did gurn and game-keep in the main;
All flimsy were the squirrel drays,
And the tree-rats all slain.
