Dungeness is one of the largest expanses of shingle in the world.
It is rich with some rare and unique species. There are many rare moths and plants and Dungeness also provides a home to the largest known population in Britain of the medicinal leech. The habitat is extremely delicate, it can be damaged simply by walking over it.
Sandi Toksvig talks to guests about the remote and barren landscape of Dungeness, the rare and diverse species which inhabit it and the nuclear power station which overshadows this somewhat bizarre wilderness.
