John will also be talking to Paul Safont about the extraordinary travel adventures in Wide World Magazine.

Christabelle Dilks, Travel writer
Christabelle fell in love with Argentina at the age of 16 when her family lived on the edge of Patagonia. Two years later the Falklands War broke out and she had to leave the country and her friends. Twenty years later she returned, travelled widely and rediscovered Patagonia.听 She is the author of听 the "Footprint guide to Argentina" and the "Footprint Patagonia Guide". They are published by Footprint Handbooks, ISBN: 1903471753.

Oliver Campbell, Film Maker and traveller
In 2003 Oliver Campbell, his brother Julian and friend Harry Glass retraced a journey undertaken by their Great-Grandfather more than a century ago. They trekked for about 450 miles using the 100 year old guidebook which their ancestor, William Campbell, had written. They intended to make the trip an authentic Victorian adventure.

Paul Safont, Compiler of anthology of Wide World听Magazine
Paul first discovered Wide World magazine when he inherited a box full of them from his Grandfather. The magazine was published between 1898 and 1965 and is a cross between Boy's Own and a serious travel magazine. It contains travel adventures such as the tale of a man who went over Niagara Falls in a rubber ball, many of which were failures. The Wide World: True Adventures for Men听 is published by Macmillan ISBN: 1405049316.
