Sandi Toksvig is joined by foreign correspondents, Janine di Giovanni and Richard Lloyd Parry and writer and journalist Matthew Parris all of whom have visited and written about their travels in war zones.

Janine di Giovanni - journalist
Janine di Giovanni is a senior foreign correspondent for the Times and a contributing editor for Vanity Fair. She has won Granada TV's Foreign Correspondent of the Year Award. She is married to Bruno Girodon, a French journalist. They now live in Paris. Janine spent much of the 1990s covering the war in the Balkans. Her book "Madness Visible: A Memoir of听 War" published by Bloomsbury, ISBN: 0747568685 is a harrowing and vivid account of the people she met there and the horrors that went on.

Matthew Parris - writer
Matthew Parris is a writer for The Times and The Spectator and a frequent broadcaster on television and radio. From 1977 until the 1979 General Election, he was a member of staff in Mrs Thatcher's Office. He was elected as an MP for West Derbyshire in 1979, a seat he held until 1986 when he gave it up to become Presenter of LWT's political interview programme, Weekend World. He has led expeditions to Mount Kilimanjaro, Peru and Bolivia as well as to Zaire and the Sahara. Last year he visited both Afghanistan and Iraq.

Richard Lloyd Parry - journalist
Richard Lloyd Parry has lived in Tokyo for ten years as a foreign correspondent, first for The Independent and now The Times. He has reported from twenty four countries, including Iraq, Afghanistan, Kosovo and North Korea. His work has also appeared in Granta, the London Review of Books and the New York Times Magazine.
His book "In The Time of Madness" is published by Jonathan Cape, ISBN: 0224075160
