Amanda de Simone
Amanda has spent much of her life working as a freelance tour manager and guide.听听 After finishing university and before starting a 'proper job' Amanda wanted to travel the world.听 Following a road trip around North America she decided to become a tour guide and moved to Africa to spend the next 2 years leading groups around East, Central and Southern Africa.听 It was here that she discovered a deep love of Africa, it's wildlife, people and landscapes and despite visiting many other fabulous countries it still remains her first love.
Andy Cave
Andy Cave was born into a mining family and is now a cutting-edge Alpinist with several formidable first ascents. He also is a University lecturer, with a PhD in the sociology of mining, and a qualified International Mountain Guide.

Mark Carwardine
Mark is a marine biologist, award-winning writer, magazine columnist, widely published photographer, Radio 4 presenter, consultant and lecturer.
He has written more than 40 books, including several best sellers among them 'Last Chance to See", which he co-authored with Douglas Adams. He runs his own travel company 'Ocean Wanderers' and he leads whale-watching, dolphin-watching, shark-diving and manatee snorkelling holidays all around the world.
Mark has worked for several international conservation organisations including the World Wide Fund for Nature and the UN Environment programme.
He presented Nature on Radio 4 for six years and regularly appears on various radio and TV shows

Piers Vitebsky
Piers specialises in the anthropological study of ritual, psychology and the environment. He has carried out fieldwork among the Shamans and shifting cultivators in tribal India since 1975 and among nomadic reindeer herders in the Siberian Arctic since 1988.
His previous books include The Shaman and Dialogues with the Dead and he has collaborated in the making of many films in Siberia, India and South America for Channel 4, National Geographic and the 大象传媒. Since 1986 he has been head of Anthropology and Russian Northern Studies at the Scott Polar Research Institute in the University of Cambridge.
