Susan Bell听has been involved with听The National Forest since its inception.
Currently celebrating its 10th birthday, it听covers a 200 square mile swath of central England, around south-east Staffordshire, south Derbyshire and north-east Leicestershire.
Michael Jeeves , Head of Conservation for the Leicestershire and Rutland Wildllife Trust.
The Trust cares for over 30 nature reserves covering more than 2,600 acres. From woodland to meadows, wetland to heaths, these nature reserves comprise of many varied animal and plant species, some extremely rare, as well as several very important geological sites. Michael is also the author of Leicestershire and Rutland Woodlands Past and Present , published by Kairos Press, ISBN: 1871344034 .
Dave Watson, bushcraft expert
Dave's passion for ancient survival skills, or 'bushcraft' as it has become known, stems from his teenage years when he spent much of his time wandering around Britain in semi-wild places trying to live off the land. He is renowned in the friction fire lighting world for his ability to light fire with both bow drill and hand drill.
Melissa Rossi, Author, The Armchair Diplomat in Europe
Born in Dayton, Ohio, Melissa Rossi has been moving around since she was听seventeen 听- living in Seattle, Portland and assorted other parts of the Pacific Northwest as well as in New York, Vermont, Florida, Iowa and Kentucky. In the course of her journalistic travels, Melissa has visited most European countries and written for National Geographic Traveler, Newsweek, and Esquire magazine. It was the culmination of these experiences that led her to produce What Every American Should Know about the Rest of the World (2003), and subsequently, concerned by the lack of understanding exhibited by Europeans for their continental cousins, turn her attentions to Europe and the EU.
