SUMMER CAMPS
For some the phrase 'summer camp' conjures up images of pining for home, while standing shivering in a bleak mid-English summer watching an enthusiastic camp coordinator extolling the joys and virtues of the outdoor life.听 Others think of them as opportunities for children to step towards independence and a chance to learn new skills, have fun and make friends.听 With summer camps growing in popularity, many religious and specialist activity groups, the Youth Hostel Association, the Active Training and Education Trust are offering a range of camp experiences to young people.
