DISCOVERING ENGLAND
This summer Britons have been visiting Britain in greater numbers than for many a long year.听 Half timbered houses, saucy seaside postcards, Hovis and Horlicks, lighthouses and coastguards, thatched Cotswold cottages and clotted cream teas, chalk from the white cliffs and Stilton blue cheese.听

John McCarthy travels in search of a lost England with Christopher Somerville journalist and author of Coast: The Journey Continues, Caroline Stanford, historian with the Landmark Trust and Peter Ashley, photographer and author of Unmitigated England.
